Pet Food Recall Saves Many Animals

The most recent pet food recall saved many animals from sickness and death, but unfortunately, many animals were stricken before the pet food recall took place.  The pet food recall started after many animals were sick or dead.  Authorities from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gathered the information on a portion of the stricken animals and figured out what had happened.  Once the information was gathered, an alert was issued for the pet food recall and some animals were saved.  Both dogs and cats were affected by the tainted food.  Food for ferrets and fish was also contaminated and eventually destroyed. 

The problem arose from imported ingredients from China.  These ingredients were mixed with other ingredients to make different brands of pet food.  Some of the food was used to feed animals that were later used for human food.  Fortunately, the human food that was produced did not make any human beings ill.  The pet food recall meant that contaminated food should be identified, retrieved and destroyed as quickly as possible.  The pet food recall has brought great attention to some officials who need to determine any cures for this problem. 

Many Brands On List Of Pet Food Recall   

The pet food recall did not just involve one particular brand of food, but most of the problem could be traced to ingredients used in many different brands.  The ingredients that caused the pet food recall were imported from a foreign country.  The FDA published a list of all brands that were affected so people could make sure that they did not give their pets contaminated food.  Unfortunately, the pet food recall was not issued until many people suffered the loss of a dear pet.

At least one company has provided a system to pay people who have lost a pet.  The people who have lost a pet will be able to recover some of the costs for veterinarian bills and attorney fees.  The money paid to people will never make up for the agony of losing a pet.  Other pet owners after hearing about the contaminated food worried about their animals, and many watched their animals carefully as they felt that their animals might be harmed.  Many vets were inundated with calls from worried pet owners searching for answers about the problems with pet food.  Hopefully, the agencies involved will make sure that any contaminated food is confiscated before any animal is harmed in the future.    Surely, the companies that were affected will be very careful about the suppliers that they use for the ingredients in their products.
